Nonuniform Isotropic

Nonuniform isotropic materials include both electric and magnetic insulating and lossy media, characterized by user-supplied values of the permittivity, the permeability, and the electric and magnetic conductivity. Nonuniform isotropic materials differ from isotropic materials in that users also supply a density value in nonuniform isotropic materials. This material type is useful when calculating Absorption Rates.

Instructions
  1. ClickMaterial Image 16 color Materials within the Definitions section under the EMA3D tab in the ribbon. Then selectIsotropic Tree Image 16 Nonuniform Isotropic.

  3. In the HUD, select the material library button. A new window will appear. Select theNew Material Image 16 New button. A new Nonuniform Isotropic material will appear. Double click it to assign it.

  5. In the Properties Panel, adjust the nonuniform isotropic properties as desired.

  7. Use the appropriate selection tool (bodySelect Body Image 16 , surfaceSelect Surface Image 16 , or lineSelect Line Image 16 ) to assign the nonuniform isotropic material. To assign material properties, either select the geometric entity in the model window or in the Structure Tree.

  9. Click OKCheck Image 16 to complete the definition.

  10. To hide the color and revert to the original, click the eye next to the material type under the Definitions node in the Simulation Tree.

  12. Adjust the definitions of the Nonuniform Isotropic material at any time by right clicking it within the Simulation Tree and selecting Edit from the pop-up menu.
