Segment Current Drive

Segment current drive is used to drive an entire cable segment. This includes all locations on the segment, as illustrated below. As discussed previously, current sources can only be applied on a segment consisting of a single conductor. And number of single conductor segments can be so driven in a cable system. It should be realized that these current sources are unaffected by the presence and response of the MHARNESS® cable system.

Segment current drive is particularly useful when driving a subset of single conductor segments in a cable system or when driving the exposed single shield of a cable system, such as an overbraid.
