General current drive is used to drive an entire cable system. This includes all locations on all conductors, as illustrated below. As discussed previously, current sources can only be applied on a segment consisting of a single conductor. It should be realized that these current sources are unaffected by the presence and response of the
MHARNESS® cable system. General current drive is useful when obtaining the currents from another solver to be used as sources to drive an entire cable system. General current drive is particularly useful when driving the exposed single shield of a cable system, such as an overbraid to compute the internal cable response.EMA3D - © 2025 EMA, Inc.
