Localized Current Drive

Segment current sources can be applied at any number of locations and on any number of conductors. Current sources, however, can only be applied on a conductor when that conductor is the only conductor within a segment. A current source cannot be applied on a conductor when there are two or more conductors within the associated segment. Current sources can be applied on a shield. A current source is useful for driving a cable system, as illustrated below.
