Shield Binding

Shield binding is the process of declaring one segment conductor to be the shield of another segment. If such a specification is provided, then the conductors of the shielded segment must fit inside the outer radius of the shielding conductor. If this is not the case, then an error message will result and the MHARNESS® program will terminate.

There is only one keyword associated with the shield binding section of the MHARNESS input file. This keyword is listed below.

• SHIELD BIND

The process of binding a shielding segment conductor to a shielded segment does not involve specifying the nature of the shield transfer impedance. This is done separately (see Section 5.9).
