Absent Connectors

When a connector is specified to be absent, then the connector is removed from the end of the cable. If the connector is on a shield, then energy is directly coupled to the inner conductors, as discussed above and illustrated in the figure below. Since the connector consist of the last finite difference cell on the end of a cable segment, then one cell is effectively removed.
