Quality of Life Features | ![]() |
EMA3D, MHARNESS, and CHARGE each have numerous quality of life features and shortcuts to improve the user experience. This page will be routinely updated as new features become available.
This topic contains the following sections:
Select multiple items in the Simulation Tree by using ctr+click or shift+click
When multiple items are selected, the following commands are supported:
Backspace/Delete keys - delete all selected items
F2 key - rename all selected items with format "New Probe Name (#)"
Space bar - Check or uncheck all selected items with checkboxes (inverses those items' visibility in model window)
Quick keys
The following quick keys are available:
Enter behaves the same as clicking the OK button when it is present
Alt+D terminates all open ends of a cable or wire
Alt+W closes an open non-Discovery window tab (e.g., plots, signals, etc.)
Delete/Backspace deletes a selected item(s) from the Simulation Tree
F2 renames a selected item(s) in the Simulation Tree
All additional ribbon items can be bound to shortcuts using the "Customize command shortcuts" options page from File -> Discovery Options -> Customize -> Shortcuts
Hot keys
After right clicking on an item in the Simulation Tree to access the pop-up menu, users can use the designated hot key to open a tool. The hot key will be underlined with the name. For instance, in Current in the example below, the u is underlined indicating it is the hot key.
Users may need to open their computer settings, navigate to Ease of Access, then Keyboard, and then turn on "Underline access keys when available" under "Change how keyboard shortcuts work" to see the hot keys.
Plotting multiple probe results on one graph
It is possible to plot the results of multiple probes on the same plot by dragging the results of one probe from the Results node in the Simulation Tree to the desired plot within the Visualization node. Users may need to right click on the graph and hit Refresh in the pop-up menu or close the plot and reopen it to see the new plot.
