Input File Listing and Explanation

The collection of group entries in the input file can be arranged in any order. However, an adhered to prescribed order and grouping can eliminate confusion, errors, and repetitions. The complete EMA3D® input file listing, showing the format of all possible entries and group entries, is provided in the pages listed below.

Section 1 of these pages will contain the listing of the input file, while Section 2 will provide further explanation of any EMA3D input file variable symbols. The symbol explanations are presented in the same order and possess a one-to-one correspondence with each part of the input file listing in Section 1.

It is recommended that the EMA3D input file be constructed with ten sections. Some of these sections are required while others are necessary only for certain configurations.

  1. Section 1: General

  2. Section 2: Time Step

  3. Section 3: Space Step

  4. Section 4: Background

  5. Section 5: Boundary Conditions

  6. Section 6: Sources

  7. Section 7: Materials
